This home is financed through CitiMortgage. Our rate is 6.1% . We would like to refinance in order to take advantage of lower interest rates and to lower our monthly payments. We are both retired, I am retired with a disability, my husband just completed chemotherapy for Hodgkins lymphoma. We would like to know why the state of Florida charges such exorbitant fees (taxes) to refinance. We would have to pay nearly $4000 in fees to refinance. This is ridiculous and totally unfair!! What can be done to bring these unfair practices to the attention of the proper authorities?
